Karuta Attractions in Awara City

Aratazaka Hill Road

The ‘rows of cherry blossoms of Yamamuro’ is reminiscent of the place where Chihaya, Taichi and Arata reunited. In March of 2019, the site was named ‘Aratazaka Hill Road’ and a commemorative monument was erected. The monument is engraved with Arata’s symbolic glasses and cherry petals. Also inscribed on the monument is the karuta poem “Sewo hayami”, which describes a hope of wishing to reunite with those you love. It is a famous place for cherry blossoms that is loved by locals.
